Police investigating body found in Pittsfield, Mass.

PITTSFIELD, N.Y. --Police have located the body of a man in the vicinity of Pittsfield Cemetery.

The body of the yet to be identified man was discovered in a wooded area west of the cemetery in the vicinity of Vin Hebert Boulevard.  The body was found by a state police cadaver K-9 about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Detectives say the body appears to be that of a white male in his 20's.  Police have been searching in and around that area for a 21 year old Pittsfield man, Michael Gokey who was reported missing last Tuesday.  Based upon evidence at the scene and information gained during their investigation, investigators believe the body is that of the man they have searched for.

At this point in the investigation, authorities do not suspect foul play. An autopsy will be conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and a positive identification is expected to be made within the next several days.
