Philadelphia Orchestra opens at SPAC for summer season


SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - The Philadelphia Orchestra returns to its historic summer stage at Saratoga Performing Arts Center for the three-week season on Wednesday.

The season runs for three weeks from August 7th to the 24th.  The season kicks off Wednesday at 7 p.m. with guest conductor Stéphane Denève, Chief Conductor of the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra and 2012 Gramophone Artist of the Year nominee and American violin virtuoso Gil Shaham.

On Thursday, there is a special "Saratoga 150" concert with conductor Keith Lockhart leading the Orchestra in a special equestrian-themed evening.

Tickets start at $24 for lawn and GE's Kids in Free entitles children 12 and under to free lawn admission.
