Funeral director Vincent Iocovozzi says veterans groups will post honor guards along Route 5 as the vehicle procession carrying Sgt. Dominick Licari's casket leaves the New York State Thruway at Little Falls and travels to his hometown of Frankfort.
A commercial flight carrying his casket is scheduled to arrive at the Albany airport Friday evening. His funeral and burial with full military honors are set for Tuesday in Frankfort.
Licari died in 1944 after his bomber crashed into a mountain in Papua New Guinea. U.S. military officials recently identified his remains.
