Saratoga Springs fire still under investigation

By: Lisa Martone

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- It's been three days since a large fire charred historic homes displacing over 30 people in Saratoga Springs, and still investigators say they don't know how it started.

Police say despite rumors floating around town of an accelerant being to blame, the actual cause of the Woodlawn Avenue fire has not been identified yet.

Investigators will be on the scene throughout this week to try and determine the cause and will be working back at their headquarters looking over evidence. They tell NEWS10 they have videos, pictures and pieces of the debris from the scene that they are looking at and trying to piece together.

As of yesterday the building has been turned over to the owner of Woodlawn development LLC. They had contractors on the scene Wednesday boarding up the building to keep away looters and on lookers from going inside.

Clean up can begin once the investigation is complete and the owner tells NEWS10 he will rebuild.
