Man dies after run over by dump truck on construction job
NORTH GREENBUSH, N.Y. - The North Greenbush Police Department says a man has died after a dump truck full of asphalt accidentally backed over him while he was working in the roadway.
Police say 34-year-old Christopher Premo of North Greenbush died Monday as a result of the injuries sustained in the accident, which occurred last Wednesday afternoon.
Premo was working as a construction employee for Albany Asphalt and Aggregates Corporation when the dump truck, driven by John Landy, Jr., accidentally backed over him on Fairfax Street in the town of North Greenbush. He was treated at the scene and transported to Albany Medical Center where he remained in serious condition.
The victim is the son of town Highway Superintendent Mark Premo.
Police say the investigation is continuing.
