ALBANY, N.Y. – A 26-year-old City man faces three years in
State Prison, followed by three years of post-release supervision after
pleading guilty to felony assault Monday.
On April 13, Leroy Stanford was at party on First Street when
he engaged in an argument with a female, who authorities say he had known prior. When Stanford threatened the victim with
physical violence, she left the party. Stanford then followed her and sliced both her hand and earher with a box cutter. This assault required a total of 25 stitches.
District Attorney P. David Soares announced Monday that Stanford
pleaded guilty to one felony count of assault
in the second degree before the Honorable Peter A. Lynch in Albany County Court.
Stanford will return to court on September 4 for sentencing.
