Green Island man arrested for breaking into home while residents were sleeping

WATERFORD, N.Y. – Police have arrested a Green Island man following a report that while two residents were sleeping in their home, he allegedly entered through an unlocked door of the home armed with a baseball bat.
At approximately 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, two victims told police that the individual came into their bedroom upon entering and threatened them with the bat then proceeding to destroy several items before fleeing the scene.
In connection with the incident, police charged 20-year-old Jacob Tyler Montague, of 45A George Street, with a felony count of Burglary and two misdemeanors, Criminal Mischief and Menacing.
Montague was arraigned in Waterford Town Court and was remanded to the Saratoga County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail or $50,000 bond.
