Hundreds of golfers participated in the annual Lewis Golub Memorial ALS / MDA Golf Tournament Wednesday afternoon.
Over 300 golfers were playing at two courses Wednesday afternoon in Schenectady and Colonie. The large event is chaired by Price Chopper's CEO Jerry Golub. He says he is committed to raise awareness and fight against Lou Gehrig's Disease in memory of his father.
The event has been put on for over 30 years by the Golub family.
"We've been supporting MDA for over 30 years. This is special to us because my father passed away from ALS a few years ago. And proceeds will go toward ALS support," Golub said.
Proceeds from the event benefit MDA's ALS Division,
including the Lewis Golub MDA / ALS clinic at St. Peter's Hospital. Golub says the event on Wednesday will raise about $200,000.
