GLENS FALLS, N.Y. – Phish will play at the Glens Falls Civic Center on October 23, the band announced on its website Wednesday.
Phish played at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center July 5, 6 and 7. Though the musical performances themselves received positive reviews and drew huge crowds, there were also some concerns regarding the presence of illegal narcotics that are often associated with similar events.
Police increased surveillance in the surrounding area and also swept through the grounds to enforce drug crackdowns as a part of "Operation Impact." Over the course of the three-day show, hundreds of drug-related arrests were made and one person died from drug overdose.
The band's upcoming month-long Fall 2013 tour begins in Virginia with a three-night stint in Hampton from October 18 to 20, followed by a show in Rochester on October 22. After playing in Glens Falls, it will head to Massachusetts and Connecticut before the traditional Halloween show, which will be played at the Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall. The band will wrap up its final three shows at the New Jersey venue from October 31 until November 2.
The jam band will return to Glens Falls Civic Center for the first time in nearly two decades at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
