Woman loses husband in fatal house fire

WARRENSBURG, N.Y. – Just before 8 a.m. Monday, emergency services personnel responded to a fully involved structure fire at residence located at 186 Rollies Road.

The female resident had successfully exited the home uninjured, but advised police and fire fighters on the scene that her husband was still inside of their residence.

Sheriff's Patrol Officer Jay Fidd and Warrensburg Fire Chief Kevin Roth attempted to enter the home to locate her husband in his bedroom, but were forced to evacuate due to heavy smoke and fire.

The woman's husband, 51-year-old Alfred J. Winslow was later found deceased inside the home after several fire companies were able to extinguish the fire.

Warren County Cause and Origin Investigators were contacted to assist in the investigation. This case remains under investigation, but is not considered to be suspicious at this time.
