Fallen parole officers to be honored


ALBANY, N.Y. — Seven New York parole officers who lost their lost their lives in the line of duty will be honored at the Empire State Plaza Wednesday morning.

A wreath-laying ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. with bagpipers leading the procession before the ceremony. The event will also include an honor guard and top state criminal justice officials.

Seven parole officers have died in the line of duty since 1976.
