Clifton Park man enters guilty plea in gambling case


ALBANY, N.Y. -- A Clifton Park man has pleaded guilty to being part of an on-line gambling ring involving two Albany County corrections officers.

Craig Hayner, 44, admitted to being part of a bookmaking for profit scheme. He pleaded guilty to Promoting Gambling in the first-degree.

Hayner was one of 5 Capital Region people accused in the ring, the four others have already pleaded guilty to gambling charges, including former corrections officer James Cerniglia.

The case against Timothy Robillard, the other jail officer involved, is still open.
