Stewart's Shops begins solar project "liftoff"

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Stewart's Shops will begin installing a large solar energy system on its manufacturing and distribution facility in Greenfield Center Monday morning.

Stewart's has partnered with EnterSolar, a New York-based provider of solar systems to commercial enterprises, for the project that has received a New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) award as part of Governor Andrew Cuomo's NY-Sun Initiative.

Congressman Paul Tonko will join Gary Dake, Stewart's Shops President, and other New York State power and energy officials at 9:30 a.m. Monday as the solar panels are unloaded from delivery trucks and a crane lifts them onto the roof of the facility, located at 461 Church Street.
