NISKAYUNA, N.Y. – The Town of Niskayuna has retained its title as Best Tasting Drinking Water in Schenectady County for 2013.
The town will now go on to the regional competition in Albany and if successful, the State finals held at the New York State Fair in Syracuse.
"Congratulations Town of Niskayuna for retaining your title," said Marty Finn, Chair of the Schenectady County Legislature's Committee on Planning and Economic Development. "Thank you to everyone who came down to be part of the competition and help choose the winner."
"We are very proud and honored to have once again been selected as the Best Tasting Drinking Water in Schenectady County," said Town of Niskayuna Supervisor Joe Landry. "Thank you to everyone who participated. This is a reflection of the hard work put in by our Water Department employees, especially those at our Water Plant."
The competition was held at the Farmers Market in downtown Schenectady, located on the corner of Jay Street and Franklin Street near City Hall. Visitors to the Farmers Market were invited to taste blind samples and vote for their top two favorites. The City of Schenectady was runner-up.
