Three-car crash closes Voorheesville roadway

VOORHEESVILLE, N.Y. – A crash involving three vehicles on State Farm Road in the Town of New Scotland will keep the roadway closed for a portion of Wednesday afternoon as police investigate the scene.

Police say the crash, which occurred just before noon, injured three people. Two of those injured were transported to the hospital.

The Albany County Sheriff's Office says 85-year-old Joseph Deangelis of Slingerlands was driving his car northbound when a second vehicle traveling southbound, driven by 70-year-old Marion Parmenter of Voorheesville, entered the road striking the first vehicle head-on causing extensive damage to both vehicles.

A third car also traveling north, driven by 64-year-old Carol Monterosso of Voorheesville, swerved to avoid the accident however the first vehicle spun around striking her vehicle.

Deangelis and his passenger 76-year-old Ascenza Deangelis were transported to Albany Medical Center for multiple injuries. Parmenter was also transported for minor injuries.

Albany County Sheriff's Deputies are continuing the investigation at this time.
