Police: Teens arrested for car break-ins


ROTTERDAM, N.Y. – Two teens remain in Schenectady County Jail after police discovered they had broken into several cars on Marengo Street Tuesday morning.

At approximately 4:20 a.m. patrol officers say they noticed someone moving between parked cars on the roadway.  Further investigation revealed several cars had broken into and items stolen from those vehicles. 

Police say that an hour later they located two individuals walking on Princetown Road.  After speaking with both men, they discovered that them to be in possession of the items that had been stolen from the vehicles in the area. 

Police arrested 19-year-old Martin J Muniz, of Congress Street in Schenectady on charges of possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance and 17-year-old Jaquan K. Williamson, of 2nd Avenue in Schenectady on misdemeanor and felony counts of possession of stolen property. 

Police are reminding residents to lock their vehicles and remove all valuables.
