ALBANY, N.Y. – An Albany-native hoping to bridge the transportation gap between Albany and Saratoga Springs will introduce a new shuttle service that will run between the two cities Wednesday.
The official ribbon cutting for The Giddy Up Express, an affordable bus service that will have pick-up and drop-off locations at hotels, concert venues, restaurants, bars and the Saratoga Race Course, will be held at 11 a.m. at the Times Union Center. City of Albany Mayor Gerald Jennings and other County executives will also attend the unveiling.
Traci Cornwell, a graduate of the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber's Entrepreneur Boot Camp, introduced the business in an effort to increase tourism between the two cities by offering a more convenient, safe and affordable means for residents to commute.
The 42-passenger bus features custom seating, surround sound and creative lighting.
The new company received funding from the Community Loan Fund of the Capital Region and the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber microloan program.
