ALBANY, N.Y. – The 7th Annual smAlbany Business Expo and Social Media Conference takes place Wednesday.
The expo featured presentations by local and regional businesses and tooke place at The College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering University at Albany. More than 1,000 small business owners and job seekers were expected to attend the event
"We expect over 60 exhibitors and sponsors offering a variety of seminars focused on how to help small businesses to succeed with today's technology," smAlbany founder Larry Zimbler said.
More than 20 seminars were featured at the business expo, which emphasized working with cloud computing, social media techniques, emerging technologies and more.
"Small businesses really rely on relationships and building trust and that intimacy comes from an event like this where people are spending time together ina little bit of a formal way in the training and in an informal way with the networking," said Larry Zimbler, President of Liberteks.com. "Small businesses are the number one employers across the country, so growing small business really does grow the jobs."
The keynote speaker at the expo is George Keleshian, CEO of Zero Energy Buildings. Keleshian will discuss how business and individuals can reduce their carbon footprint with Zero Energy Buildings as well as entrepreneurship, technology and career openings in the energy field.
"At smAlbany, admission is free to the public and the expo is dedicated to the growth of businesses located in the Capital Region," event organizer Darcy Knapp said.
The expo takes place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is open to the public.
