BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. — Fairgoers will begin to stroll through the entrance of the county fairgrounds for the 172nd Saratoga County Fair beginning Tuesday.
The gates open at 9 a.m. and close at midnight daily beginning Tuesday and continuing through Sunday, July 21.
Attendees will enjoy a family-friendly venue filled with livestock, pig races, rides, live music, art festivals, deep-fried, pizza, turkey leg and other food vendors, as well as a host of other special attractions and exhibits.
General admission is $10, children shorter than 52" when standing are permitted to enter free of charge and senior admission is available before 5 p.m. on Wednesday for $4.
The Saratoga County Fair offers free parking in the fair-operated lots. Parking on the fairgrounds will be special permit only.
This year, The Saratoga County Fair and Local Living In have developed a mobile web app for the fair. As visitors enter the fair, they will notice large banners at each gate entrance with a QR code, web link and text code. They can scan the QR code, bring up the phone's browser and go to saratogacountyfair.org or text "Fair schedule" to 21777 for access to the app. Once on the app, choose the time of day to see the daily schedule. For those without a smartphone, a complete list of events is available at: http://www.saratogacountyfair.org/images/stories/Documents/daily_schedule_2013.pdf
