TROY, N.Y. – Participants of "Heroes for Health," a superhero themed obstacle run held in Prospect Park Sunday, crawled, leapt, ducked and ran in costume for two miles to support Whitney M. Young, Jr. Health Services.
"We want this obstacle run to be fun for all levels of fitness, whether you do this sort of thing every weekend, or are just looking to have a good time while supporting a great cause," said Maureen Yee, Development Director at Whitney M. Young, Jr. Health Services.
The $35 individual registration fee included prizes for best costumes and race times, as well as lunch from Dinosaur Bar-B-Que. A raffle was also held to offer prizes and lunch was available for purchase for those spectators who did not participate in the race.
All proceeds from the event benefitted the Whitney M. Young, Jr. Health Services health care programs offered to more than 20,000 men, women and children each year.
