CHATHAM, N.Y. – After failing to dim his headlights while approaching a State Police vehicle on Route 66 Sunday, troopers pulled over then went on to arrest 38-year-old Christian Wassmann, when they discovered he was driving intoxicated with his 2-year-old son in the vehicle.
The New York City resident provided a positive breath sample which yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .12 percent.
As a violation of Leandra's Law, Wassmann was charged with a felony count of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated - Child in Vehicle, as well as other vehicle and traffic offenses.
Wassmann was released and ordered to appear before the Village of Chatham Court at 7p.m. on July 23.
