Firefighters battle flames, heat in Troy house fire

TROY, N.Y. – Troy firefighters battled a blaze at two-family home in Lansingburgh Sunday—an effort they say it much more difficult in high temperatures.

Firefighters were called to the residence, located at 673 6th Avenue, just after 12:30p.m. and took approximately an hour to put the fire down.

Though the home is repairable and no injuries resulted as a result, Chief Michael Kelleher did add that excessive heat conditions do make knocking a fire out more difficult.

Investigators remained on scene early Sunday evening to determine the cause.
