Two shot on Campbell Ave. in Troy, one critical

TROY, N.Y. - Troy Police say two people were shot Thursday night outside the Cumberland Farms on Campbell Avenue.

Police responded to the scene around 7:15 p.m. for the report of a shooting, where they located one adult male victim with gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Concurrently a call from Samaritan Hospital disclosed a second adult male victim had been transported to the hospital by private vehicle.

Police tell the NEWS CENTER one victim, 31-year-old William Singleton of Troy, was treated and released from Samaritan Hospital. The second victim, 32-year-old Quincy Smalls of Troy, is currently in critical condition at Albany Medical Center.

The motive is unknown and no arrests have been made at this time.

Police say it is still an active, ongoing investigation as they sort through evidence at the scene including a taxi cab with shattered rear driver's window and customer's vehicle parked at front of store with shattered window.
