ALBANY, N.Y. – A 19-year-old man accused of having illegal fireworks at the Empire State Plaza was arraigned in Albany City Court Wednesday.

State Police say they arrested Keion J. Kirkley Jr., of Albany, after he was seen setting off fireworks in a crowded area of the Empire State Plaza during the Fourth of July celebration.

Police say no one was injured, but the incident caused quite a commotion.

Kirkley was arraigned before Judge Keefe on one count of Reckless Endangerment, a misdemeanor, and Unlawful Possession of Fireworks, a violation.

He remains out of custody and is scheduled for his next appearance in Albany City Court August 1.
