CRAGSMOOR, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a 61-year-old Hudson Valley woman apparently killed her husband with two gun shots to his head before fatally overdosing on prescription drugs.
The Ulster County Sheriff's Office says the bodies of Sharon McCombs and her 62-year-old husband Paul McCombs were found Wednesday night at their home in the hamlet of Cragsmoor, about 70 miles north of New York City.
Police say a preliminary investigation indicated Sharon McComb shot her husband twice with a small-caliber handgun before taking an unknown quantity of prescription medication.
Police say the case remains under investigation.
The couple had not been heard from for a day when police checked in at their house.
