Siena Men's Basketball Non-Conference Schedule & 2013-14 Roster

Posted:

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – The Siena Saints have outlined an ambitious 11-game non-conference schedule highlighted by Old Spice Classic games with Purdue and Memphis.

"Obviously, it's one of the toughest schedules Siena has ever played," new head coach Jimmy Patsos said. "It will be very challenging, but that's OK. Everybody has to be patient, because this will probably end up being one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country. We're a team that's going to get better as the season goes on."

The Patsos' era will officially tip off when the Saints host defending America East Champion and hometown rival UAlbany at Times Union Center.

The Saints will then look to achieve a road win over Vermont, a program that has won at least 21 games each of the last five seasons and competed in the 2013 CBI after losing to UAlbany in the America East title game.

Hoping to snap a three-game losing streak against the 2012 Atlantic 10 Champion St. Bonaventure, the Saints will then turn their attention to battle for the Franciscan Cup in Albany. The following week Siena will face Purdue in a non-bracketed Old Spice Classic contest.

A competition with national powerhouse Memphis will mark a non-league game climax. The face-off will be aired on ESPN2 Thanksgiving Day at 6:30 p.m.  The Tigers come off a season of 31 wins that helped advance them to the Third Round of the 2013 NCAA Tournament.
