CORINTH, N.Y. -- State Police say an organized search has recovered the body of the man believed to have gone over Rockwell Falls on the Hudson River in a raft Sunday afternoon.
Officers received calls reporting a man in a raft had gone over the falls in the Village of Lake Luzerne around 4:38 p.m. Sunday in the area of the Hudson River rapids under the Hadley-Luzerne Bridge.
Police say the body of 42-year-old Brian Comie of Massena was found in the Hudson River around 11 a.m. Wednesday by employees at the Curtis Hydro plant in Corinth and then recovered by police.
The family was notified and the body removed by the Dinsmore Funeral Home.
There is no confirmation the body of a second man missing has been recovered. State Police dive teams and State Forest Rangers are still looking 39-year-old Richard Kelley, of Whitehall, who jumped into a rain-swollen Mettawee Falls and failed to resurface Saturday afternoon.
