State and local law enforcement agencies in New York will be out in force Fourth of July weekend, utilizing sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols to deter drunk driving.
The statewide Stop-DWI crackdown will take place from July 3rd - 8th.
Motorists are reminded that driving with a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.08 or higher will put them over the limit ‑ if they don't drive sober, they will get pulled over. Law enforcement agencies will also be cracking down on drivers who are impaired by drugs, both illegal and prescription.
