SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The Schenectady County District Attorney's Office says a former employee of the Schenectady County ARC has been arrested on embezzlement charges.
Officials say 44-year-old Kim Giles has been charged with falsifying business records and grand larceny, both misdemeanors, in connection to the alleged embezzlement.
Giles worked as a supervisor for the Schenectady County ARC and is accused of embezzling $1,200 from a number of residents living at the group home on Snowden Avenue over the course of several months.
She was arrested while at work on June 11th, arraigned and released.
The Schenectady ARC says they have fired Giles from her position after an internal audit and investigation revealed discrepancies. In a statement to NEWS CENTER, they say the missing funds will be replaced by the Schenectady ARC and they are cooperating fully with the police investigation.
