Free lunch for local youth begins with smoothies

ALBANY, N.Y. – Pastor Charlie Muller will kick off his summer lunch program with a city kids smoothie truck and the help of local prison guards in the annual effort to help feed at risk children in the Capital Region.

In support of the effort, the New York State Council of Probation Administrators prison guards have donated two U-Haul cargo vans to deliver lunches to the 20 locations being served in Albany, Schenectady, Troy and Cohoes.

More than 20 teens and adults will be assisting in the mobile lunch program, hoping to help aide the welfare of city children during the service period, which will feature new plans this year.

The summer lunch program will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the J.C. Club located at 63 Quail Street in Albany.
