New superintendent announced for Troy City School District


TROY, N.Y. – The Troy Board of Education has announced a new superintendent for the Troy City School District.

Effective July 1, 2013, John Carmello will serve as Superintendent of Schools following his position as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction since 2011 and six years as principal of Troy High School.

Dr. Donna Watson has been appointed the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from Schodack Central School District where she was Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Pupil Personnel Services including serving as Chair of the Committee for Special Education for Grades K-6. She will work closely with faculty on APPR and Common Core standards as well as developing strong academic programs for the students of Troy.
