Mayor cuts ribbon for Riverside Park’s newly built pillars


SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Mayor Gary McCarthy delivered special remarks at Riverside Park's ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly built pillars Sunday afternoon.

Representatives from local Neighborhood Associations attended the noon ceremony, where McCarthy also discussed the importance of City parks and the value they added to homes.

Jaime Forero, Albany Field Office Director, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, was also on-hand to discuss the department's efforts to stabilize the housing market. Mary D'Alessandro, Prudential Manor Home Realtors, provided the area real estate market update. Superintendent Lawrence Spring also attended the event.

The ribbon cutting was followed by an Open House from 1 to 4 p.m.
