Motorcyclists seriously injured in crash


WILTON, N.Y. – A 54-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured Friday after a vehicle failed to yield while making a left on State Route 9, striking and ejecting the male operator.

Michael McLaughlin, of Granville was travelling northbound on State Route 9 at 3 p.m. Friday when 77-year-old Doris Wilder, of Gansevoort, attempted to make a left turn in her Volkswagen onto Ernst Road.

McLaughlin sustained serious injuries after being thrown from his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and was flown to Albany Medical Center by Life Net for treatment.

Wilder was issued a ticket for failure to yield the right of way and is scheduled to appear in Wilton Town Court at a later date.
