Local terror plot targeted political party, figure

ALBANY, N.Y. -- New information has been released on the thwarted terror plot right here in the Capital Region -- Governor Cuomo was reportedly one of the intended targets.

A federal criminal complaint says Glendon Scott Crawford and his accomplice Eric Feight were planning to use a radiation device to attack a Muslim organization, a political party, and a political figure.

According to reports, that unnamed political figure was the governor.

He addressed the allegations this morning on the Capitol Press Room radio show, saying "these extreme right wing nutsies think of everything."

At this point, it's not clear why the governor may have been a target, but NEWS CENTER has uncovered that Crawford was among the hundreds of New Yorkers who signed up as plaintiffs in a lawsuit filed in March against the governor and the state legislature challenging the constitutionality of the SAFE Act.
