Washington County inmate accused of assault


FORT EDWARD, N.Y.  - The Washington County Sheriff's Office has charged an inmate for assaulting a fellow inmate on Tuesday.

Sheriff Jeffrey Murphy says 27-year-old Robert Murat-Hinton of Fort Ann is accused of assaulting another inmate while confined in the Washington County Jail for a parole violation. As a result of the assault the other inmate sustained several cuts and 11 stitches to his face.

He has been charged with felony second-degree assault and remanded to the Washington County jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 secure bond. Additional charges are possible.
