For a second day, 49-year-old Glendon Scott Crawford and 54-year-old Eric Feight appeared before a judge in federal court. The pair are accused of a bizarre plan to develop a mobile x-ray system that could be used from a distance to silently kill people they labeled "undesirable." Authorities have their own name for that device -- a weapon of mass destruction.
The US Attorney's Office says they were very serious in their intentions to kill innocent people and authorities tell NEWS CENTER they sought out experts before determining it was indeed a credible threat.
The defense lawyer for the two men asked why they had been allowed to remain on the streets during the investigation if they were indeed dangerous. Authorities say Crawford had shown an undercover FBI agent two intended targets -- a mosque and an Islamic center -- in the hours leading up to their arrests.
In court, the US Attorney reminded the judge of the 14-month long investigation that involved both video and audio recordings.
Both defendants are now due back in court July 10 at 1:30 p.m.
