MILTON, N.Y. - A Saratoga Springs man is facing a slew of charges after causing trouble over the course of a couple hours in Milton.
The Sheriff's Office was called to Burning Pines Drive around 12:30 a.m. for an assault when they found 22-year-old Steven Prevendoski went to the home of a victim and struck him with a garden tool. Officers say Prevendoski also allegedly damaged parked cars in the driveway at that time. He fled the area before officers arrived.
About two hours later, around 2:30 a.m., officers say Prevendoski returned to the victim's home on Burning Pines Drive and smashed windows, glass panes in doors and caused other damage to the home while the residents hid in the basement.
Sheriff's K-9 units tracked the suspect to an area on Margaret Drive in Milton, where the report of a suspicious person in the area was made known to officers.
It was on Margaret Drive, that he then allegedly stole a pick-up truck from a residence, traveling to Rowland Street where a police pursuit began.
State Police pursued him to Geyser Road where the suspect managed to flee on foot before being caught.
Police learned there was an active Temporary Order of Protection against Prevendoski from the victim on Burning Pines Drive.
As a result of the activity, Prevendoski has been charged with assault, criminal mischief, burglary, grand larceny, and criminal contempt and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail on bail.
