SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The city of Saratoga Springs is looking to get a tighter grip on taxi-cabs in the city, during a public hearing on strengthening regulations.
The city council is proposing a number of updates, including having cabbies submit fingerprints when applying for a license. Those prints would then go to state and federal officials for full background checks.
The council is also looking at adding medallions to taxis, which would show it has been inspected and approved by the city.
The council meeting is at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
