ALBANY, N.Y. -- Monday's storm packed a punch and only took a few minutes to sweep through Albany's Washington Park area.
At times the winds were as intense as 50 mph with a heavy down pour. Judi Dyer told the NEWS CENTER she parks on Western Avenue near Washington Park every day, but when she left work Monday after the storm, she was in for an unpleasant surprise.
"I saw the trees blowing and the rain coming down," Dyer said. "From down the road I saw the branches down. And I said ‘that's on my car.'"
The heavy rain and high winds left Dyer's windshield shattered by a limb and other large branches snapping off and damaging two other cars parked along the road.
After the storm Dyer looked on the bright side. She said she is grateful she wasn't inside of the car when the branches fell.
"That can be replaced," she said. "I can't or someone else can't."
