New poll shows majority of voters want Silver to step down

ALBANY, N.Y. -- A majority of New York voters want Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver to step down according to the latest Siena research poll.

Fifty-two percent of voters say Silver failed New Yorkers and Former Assemblyman Vito Lopez's accusers by improperly addressing the issue, while 32 percent say Silver's approach to the situation is not a reason to leave his post.

The poll also suggests Governor Cuomo has his lowest favorability rating ever at 58 percent. That's down from 64 percent in May.
