Love triangle results in death of Hudson Falls man

DANBY, Vt. - Vermont State Police are currently investigating the death of a 28-year-old Hudson Falls man who was allegedly shot by the current boyfriend of his ex-girlfriend.

Police say during the early morning hours of June 16th the victim, Aaron Allen, arrived at the residence of his ex-girlfriend in Danby, where he attacked and stabbed his 22-year-old ex-girlfriend multiple times.

The current boyfriend of the woman, 24-year-old Michael White of Danby, was present at the residence and witnessed the attack in progress. It was then that White allegedly discharged a rifle, of an undetermined make and caliber, striking Allen twice.

Allen has since succumbed to his injuries while at Rutland Regional Medical Center. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday to determine the cause and manner of death.

Police say the woman currently has an active restraining order from New York against Allen. Allen also has criminal charges pending in New York, involving this same female, for an incident that occurred in April 2013.

The female victim is still currently being treated at Rutland Regional Medical Center and is expected to survive. The identity of the female is being withheld per policy, as a victim of domestic violence.

There is no word what, if any, charges will be filed against White.

Police say the investigation is active and on-going. Anyone with information about this incident should call the Vermont State Police in Rutland at 802-773-9101.
