Group says casino expansion in could cost taxpayers

ALBANY, N.Y. -- The group representing video slot machine centers at race tracks says casino expansion in upstate New York will cost taxpayers a billion dollars -- without creating many more jobs.

The New York Gaming Association had lobbied to turn their racinos at race tracks into the Las Vegas-type casinos proposed by Governor Cuomo.

But the racino group says the deal being made will simply drain gambling revenue from the race tracks.

Legislative leaders met with the governor Monday, but say no final deal has been set.
