WATERVLIET, N.Y. – The Watervliet Arsenal's 200th Anniversary was honored by Capital District Mayors Gerald Jennings, Gary McCarthy, Lou Rosamilia, and Michael Manning during a ceremony Tuesday morning.
Hosted by Watervliet Mayor Michael Manning, the city leaders participated in a Covenant Signing Ceremony Tuesday that honors the arsenal's 200 years of proud and professional support to our military. Tuesday's official ceremony is designed to foster and sustain the community's partnership with the Army's Watervliet Arsenal, which will marks its 200 years of service on July 14.
Mayors Jennings, McCarthy, and Rosamilia are co-sponsors of the event and provided remarks. The Honorable Brian Stratton, director of New York state Canal Corporation; Honorable Daniel McCoy, Albany County Executive; Maj. Gen. Patrick Murphy, New York State Adjutant General; and Linda Weiss, director of the Stratton VA Medical Center were also in attendance.
