ALBANY, N.Y. -- An Albany common councilmen has proposed re-naming a five acre section of the city's riverfront park to "Jennings Landing" in honor of Mayor Jerry Jennings.
Jennings will be stepping down at the end of the year as Albany's second longest-serving mayor, after 20 years in office.
The suggested area runs from the state water intake in the south and tidal ponds to the north, to just south of the corning preserve.
The preserve is already named for Albany's longest serving mayor, Erastus Corning II.
