ROTTERDAM, N.Y. -- Last Wednesday a family in Rotterdam lost their home to the tornado, this Friday the community gathered to help them out.
A week and a half later - the Impellizzeri's home on Perry Street still sits in ruins - condemned for now - after the town of Rotterdam deemed it unfit to live.
But their community stepped up Friday to help the family as hundreds gathered for a bowl-a-thon in the family's name in order to help them raise some money to get back on their feet
Local businesses donated items for a raffle as the family works to gain back some sort of normalcy after the storm that so heavily damaged their home.
