South Schodack Fire Dept. honors 9-11 fallen with mural

SCHODACK, N.Y. -- Firefighters in the South Schodack Fire Department have a brand new fire truck honoring those lost in the 9-11 attacks.

But it's not just the truck that is special; it's what's on the truck. The department wanted to honor the New York City firefighters who died on 9-11, so on the truck has a mural that shows pride for the NYFD with the words "never forget."

In addition to the picture, they have designated the new truck to be numbered 34-3. That is significant because on 9-11 exactly 343 firefighters were lost.
The truck will be officially unveiled Saturday June 8th in what is known as a "wet-down" ceremony in the parking lot of the Maple Middle School on South Schodack Road in Schodack. The public is welcome to attend.
