The giant floating head isn't missing after all.
Officials at Marist
College in Poughkeepsie say the 300-pound Styrofoam and fiberglass replica of a
man's head found floating in the Hudson River was reported missing last week.
But they tell the
Poughkeepsie Journal a freshman orientation group discovered it Thursday. It's
back in the water, tethered to a dock.
The Marist men's crew team
originally spotted the strange object during practice and towed it back to
their dock in late April.
It's still not clear where
the 7-foot-tall head came from or how it ended up in the Hudson. It reportedly
was part of a store display in New York City before being placed on a hill
outside Oneonta by a couple who owned property in the area.
