GLENS FALLS, N.Y. - The Warren County Sheriff's Office has charged a Glens Falls man with felony sexual abuse for alleged sexual contact with an 11-year-old girl.

Officials say the accused man, 24-year-old Christopher Tubbs of Katherine Street, had sexual contact with the 11-year-old female victim while he was babysitting other children at a mutual acquaintance's home in the Village of Lake George.

Police say Tubbs covered the girl up with a blanket, as if it were an imaginary fort, and then fondled her. Thankfully, the girl took charge right away. Police say she pushed Tubbs away and then immediately alerted family members.

"She took charge of the situation. She knows no one is allowed to touch her and she did why we hope all kids do if confronted with the same situation," Lt. Steve Stockdale of the Warren County Sheriff's Office said.

Tubbs has been charged with Sexual Abuse 1st-degree, a class D felony, and has been remanded to the Warren County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
