Cops: Schenectady man held in double murder

ROME, N.Y. - Authorities say they've captured a Schenectady man wanted in connection with a double slaying in central New York.
Detective Commander Timothy Bates of the Rome Police Department says 26-year-old Aaron J. Welch Sr. of Schenectady was captured in a wooded area shortly before noon Tuesday after an intense search by police using dogs and helicopters.
Bates says he was seen running from the neighborhood where 22-year-old Stephanie Morrison was found dead and 31-year-old Shawn Kessler found fatally injured inside a home Tuesday morning.
Authorities say Kessler died shortly after 11 a.m. at a hospital. How they were killed has not been released, only to say they are victims of homicide.
Bates says Welch was acquainted with one and possibly both victims. He says Welch was injured and is being treated at a hospital.
