Update: Suspicious death in Albany ruled homicide, husband sought

ALBANY, N.Y. - Albany police have declared the death of a woman on Sherman Street Wednesday a homicide, and are now attempting to locate and interview her husband. 

On May 29th, detectives responded to the 200-block of Sherman Street for a report of an unattended death. The victim, 37-year-old Sharene Wallace, was found deceased inside her her apartment in a bedroom closet when they arrived.

According to police it has been determined that she was the victim of a homicide. On Monday, police say it has been determined that she died from multiple stab wounds.

Detectives are attempting to locate and interview her husband, 41-year-old Robert L. Williams, formerly of Quail Street in Albany, in connection to her death. Police say Williams is currently under the supervision of the NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (Parole) and is a level 2 registered sex offender. Additionally, Williams is currently wanted for a Parole violation.

Wallace was also under the supervision of the NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision at the time of her death.

The Albany Police Department is working with the NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision on this investigation.
